there was a silly girl
who didn't see
the mistake she made
by trusting me
she gave her heart
she gave her all
and I tripped her up
just to watch her fall
I felt big by
making her small
used sarcasm and anger
kept her back to the wall
I didn't listen
I didn't see
that she stopped loving
wanted only to be free
now I’m sorry
but it comes too late
for too long I sowed meanness
and now I reap her hate

Reminds me of a quote by Stephen King, that he has the heart of a child, and he keeps it in a jar on his desk. It makes me happy that the reap/sow thing actually worked here, sometimes karma doesn’t seem to work, or at least it’s too slow. Someone who sows hate should reap some too. 🖤

Thank you, Anita. Yes, it’s sad for the emotionally abused person in a relationship. And I think that sometimes, the one dishing out the crap realizes they sabotaged what could have been a good thing too late to make amends.

She’s one of mine too. I used to watch “Voices and Visions” on VHS all the time. It was a documentary we had in our school library…I never gave it back, hahahah

It take it “Voices and Visions” aired on TV…? I missed a lot (and still do) of TV that I’m sure was/is good. I always had my nose buried in a book or music blasting in my ears.
