You haven’t heard my voice…not girly at all, and a strong Southern accent. Not made for reciting poetry—or singing. But it is what it is, and I’m okay with it.
I tried to use a southern accent in a spoken word piece (Against The Wall) and “Whelp” didn’t turn out too well. I recorded it on the blvd and you can hear cars and shit in the background hahahaha.
I popped over to Spotify and listened to “Against the Wall” again and couldn’t detect a Southern accent, good or bad. You talk too fast, gottta draaaaaaw out the words. 😁
I guess that’s why In the Wild West they would said “Draw” during a showdown. I was crossing the street and babbling into the phone I am not too fond of how it turned out…ah well
Jai this is such a sad poem but I know it is true for many.

I love it. Do these come easy for you, or do they take time? So heartbreakingly beautiful. 💀 🖤

Thank you! ☺️
Most come fairly easily anymore, but it wasn’t always the case. The more I wrote, the easier it got.

Really profound…In my head I hear Ani DiFranco reciting this.

Well, for sure, she would sound better than I reciting it. 😁 Thank you, Stephen.

There’s no such thing. No person can say “your words” better than you

I think it turned out just fine. Voice deep and sort of gravely…worked well with the subject matter.
